I’ll ask the Motability Foundation whether we could use the £2,000 grant and top it up ourselves (for example with £3,000 on a credit card) to go for the E-5008. Do you think they would let us Kezo. Great suggestion by the way that I didn’t think of 👌 If that wasn’t possible, then your other suggestion of getting a 5-seater EV and hiring a 7-seater for occasional holidays or outings could be a fallback option. I’m just trying to look at all realistic routes before making a final decision.

Would grants team let you top up, I don’t know for sure, but you have a good reason to beable to do so. I would go back to them andmake a point of saying you were offered a grant based on low income and the mileage to take your children to school “especially your disabled daughter, you couldn’t afford to run a 50008 hybrid with a real world 40mpg would cost nearly 3 times more than the AP on the E5008. Tell them that you understand appreciate there offer, but could we put the difference towards the E5008, as over the term of the lease it would save you over £3k, If they say no, politely ask to speak to a supervisor.

Do more in depth concrete maths than mine before ringing @Phaedra has given the costs of running an hybrid and just be careful with quoting full mileage.
