One poor owner ( there are many) Whos car has been left at the dealers since Jan has been told sorry but we cannot do anything because we didnt tell you that you could charge at home at 7kW
I don’t understand that and don’t suppose the dealer told them it could fast charge at 130kWh either, but importantly its in the manufacturers specs, it can do both, but agree its an Ombudsman claim, if thats what they the dealer are telling them.
On Kia Forum, its said that Kia have started rolling out software updates to fix issues on early cars under warranty with it being something to do with charging limits set with in a module on the onboard charger and initially thought it was the module or onboard charger faulty. It doesn’t affect DC charging or 22kWh AC charging.
In my mind, one of the onboard charger modules that deal with AC charging was set to 22kWh or 11Kwhw, as most european countries have 3 phase to the home, so higher powered chargers are popular and Kia simply forgot about poor old us, who lag behind in that respect, but that is just my thinking and have only taken UK into consideration.
