Octopus are pretty good when it comes to switching. Once your with them and everything working, its straight forward to move over to IOG. I moved to standard Go with a Smets 1 meter, as unlike other companies, Octopus said they could get reading from DCC. I don’t have a suitable charger for IOG but, only have a PHEV anyway. Thx

They’ve now got my meter numbers, and on my account page, it now says that they’ll be my official energy supplier from Wednesday 4th of February. The gas only has 3 ticks. So all seems to be going well.

I have never read the new meters since installed, over a year ago. Guess I might have to. The 4th is brilliant as that’s when my EON V5 ends and the rip off V12 Starts. Only the Ohme is compatible with IOG. I’ll give it a try 1st. Maybe I’ll just charge more often than I do. Plus, it will likely be different to the way I have been charging. With dynamic charging off. I’ve joined a Facebook group for ohme/octopus. So that should help.

    Had an email form Eon.

We see you’re leaving. Is there any reason why? I did reply.

Every single cost element of the newer EV tariff is high and has changed, 6 hours, not the 7 hours I have been getting, and now 7.5p, not 6.7p. The peak rate is the highest on the market at 32.59p with a SC of 60p.

Before I’d recommend eon but now that’s impossible to do.

They offer a new smart tariff, but it only connects to the car, not to a charger, IMO that’s a big mistake. If the car’s not compatible. Which mine isn’t. Which makes Octopus better now for me as the ohme is compatible. I’ve never paired my car to the Ohme either.

Last weekend, I used the Electroverse app & card to do just over a 400-mile round trip. It cost just under £45, So I look forward to the 8% discount also, IOG will add.

You do get A zoom EV sub from Eon for a year. Which I got 25 Kwh free from Osprey, and recently a year’s subscription to BP Pulse, but I have not used that once, yet.

When I’ve needed a boost, those nearest have only been 50kw units. So used an Instavolt after 8 pm via their app, which was actually cheaper. That was in the summer when we were away in north Lincolnshire for a week, then went straight down to the rural Essex coast for the weekend. As my daughter wanted to see Hamilton for her birthday. Used mainly Telsa OTA with a monthly subscription for that long trip. Was almost 1000 miles.

I’ve bypassed the PHEV, just went straight BEV from a mild hybrid. The occasional longer trip isn’t so bad at all.

    Appreciate the chat/help as always.
