Currently, with Eon. My Ev tariff is ending soon, has been great. I set the schedule 00.00 to 7 am in the car and the max % soc required usual 90%, and have only charged within those hours for almost a year now. It works flawlessly for me.

The newest tariff is now only 6 hours, not 7, which isn’t the issue. I can handle that, but not a drop to 5 hrs that could be. The EV price has risen, and the peak price/standing charge is now one of the highest around.

So I have been looking into switching.

Seems IOG on the variable rate might be a short-term solution. As I feel, sometimes fixing is better done in the summer. The fixed price is currently 30.07p / kWh. We are at home during the day. So that price really matters a lot. My wife works from home, and we are now Home schooling our daughter.

I have a few questions. Hopefully, some already on IOG can answer them.

My ex30 is not compatible, but the Ohme Home Pro is. For the last year, I have charged with dynamic charging turned off and everything controlled by the car. Can I do the same on IOG and only charge from 11.30 pm to 5.30 am?

Also, I have never paired my ex30 to the Ohme. Hopefully, I never have to.

I know they’re getting tougher on the 6 hours, and more info will be released soon.

Charging overnight works for me, as the car restricts access somewhat if parked where I do charge it during the day.

I do not need to gain the system and charge outside of the 6 hours at night. Will that be possible, and if it is, how?

Will I be able to have dynamic charging disabled? As I do now. Control it via the car. If I only ever charge during the 6 defined hours at night.

The other thing is, what can I do with the gas? I don’t want to split them, that is too much headache, and as you’ll join on the Flexible Octopus tariff. Then, once the meter data is received. You can then move on to IOG. Can you move the gas onto a different, cheaper octopus tariff?

Eon installed new smart meters last year, before I got my Ev, but I had the charger already installed and both have sent data for over a year. So I don’t see them being an issue. How long will it likely be before I get onto IOG after being switched over, and how long does that take? Should I wait until the 3rd to start the switch, or do it ASAP?

Thx In advance for the help.
