Wouldn’t it be cheaper to have a wheelchair taxi, tan pay £500+ VED for the Tucson, just to have Valet parking? I understand that there are cases where someone has told Motability they want to be responsible for the VED, but nothing has ever matured from it, however you do run that risk of being caught and it would be you responsible. I know very little of Drive the Deal sorry.

A wheelchair taxi would cost us more than 12 months VED on the Tucson! Besides, whilst I’d have to pay £425 VED for 12 months on the Tucson, as soon as we hand it back I can claim a refund on the remaining months so, in reality, it’s a cost of around £40 a month.

Drive the Deal provide quotes for just a select group of manufacturers (Audi, BMW, Cupra, Kia, Seat and VW). You choose the car and then the exact spec and options that you want and it gives you an instant discount. They will then (if you want) put you in contact with a main franchised dealer who will do a factory order for you at that price. I don’t do that bit. I just get the quote and then, armed with the discount value, ask a local dealer to match it. It’s worked in the past!
