I have had both the BMWX1 and the XC40 recharge.
Both have great internal space but the XC40 is a lot more comfortable to drive, smoother and feels more luxurious. The downside to the Volvo is definitely the MPG, I averaged 33 mpg including the recharge!
If I had to pick again it would still be the Volvo but would go into it knowing the MPH is not great!
