Two cents from me on additional steps, once you decided on the right vehicle for your mum:
1. In theory you will have to travel twice to the dealership: once to place your order and second time to collect. But many dealers (Eden, Marshall) now offer a digital signature, so only one trip to collect.
2. Monitor @BigDave posts here: although in theory the dealers don’t offer discounts in reality, especially towards the end of a quarter, a few do.
