    @Rich44 I don’t disagree but that sort of power, in my opinion, should require an advanced level of driving skill, maybe through an additional test.  When the Ioniq 5 N was released the Facebook groups were filled with pictures of various new cars wrapped around trees, lamp posts and other street furniture, as people with more money than ability took out their newly selected high powered EV, stuck it in silly mode slammed their foot on the go pedal and then understood the problem.

    When it comes to the Scheme, I believe giving disabled people a high powered car would be considered a bad risk, not many people fit in the joint area in a Venn Diagram of capable drivers and disabled Motability Scheme customers.  I’m not saying that nobody on the scheme could safely drive one, just that the cost to insure could well exclude it from the Scheme unless they could stick a huge AP on the performance model.  Then you’re at risk of having an IM5 short range at £2500AP and the performance at £10,000 with, maybe the Long Range somewhere around the £5,000 area.

    @kdwolf
    , I don’t understand.  The car has been released for a month, I doubt that there’s a customer with one in the country.  The shape will mean that the anticipated real world range for the 6 would be better than the average gap from the WLTP ideal return.  It’s a huge battery, streamlined shape, I’ve no doubt that a decent driver could easily achieve a genuine 300+ miles in the summer out of one, maybe even a less gifted driver could get that range.
