Given the app is limited compared to the feartures available to EV drivers, I haven’t used it since getting the Tapo smart plug. The only thing thats really used is the location map, which my daughter likes to look at when driving home from visiting family in England however, that has it’s limitations on how many times you can look at it.
The other features like lock & unlock / open & close windows, aslso have there limitations i.e it’s pissing down, better check and close the windows however, the computer says no, that function isn’t available, as the car hasn’t been used for 10 minutes, please drive the car before the function is available. The same happens on lock & unlock
Charge cheduling resets every couple of days and miles revert to Km regardless how many times you change it, as previously mentioned.
I can’t prewarm or defrost, as it doesn’t have a PTC heater like Golf or in an EV, instead it relies on the engine running on high tickover, along with a bypass valve that heats coolant in the heater matrix quickly. In the grand scheme of things it’s a clever idea, as it doesn’t deplete the high voltage battery, the negative being, you can’t get into a warm car, so revert to the old fashioned way of starting it a couple of minutes before we go out.
It’s not a must have feature for me, given it’s limited functions. Also I don’t want to change anything, as want to see if the car reverts from Pro to Plus:-)
