@swwchris big range of cars being 2? I never said any of this was to do with DLM I clearly said Motability need to review their arbitrary limits. It’s NOT about a more powerful car either. I literally gave you examples that are both LESS powerful cars yet one insurance group too high. If you’re going to join in your comment misses the point of the discussion. My DLM comment was clearly in relation to the doubling of excesses which is SOLELY down to DLM, nothing to do with choice of cars. The Vauxhall Frontera is a big powerful car it is suitable for under 25s yes? The Dacia Spring less powerful smaller car one insurance group above the limit set by motability. I don’t mind being called out on stuff but don’t make stuff up about what I said please
Unfortunately you have moved to a personal response rather than debate. My point was that insurance groups and how they are set is just life, they could move up one point but then there would still be those who want them raised another because that would mean more vehicles are available. I stand by the fact that there is a good choice of vehicles available for an under 25, but of course there can be a huge difference between for example two 24 year olds, one being more than suited to driving a more powerful car and the other being nowhere ready. Its just life and will be something agreed between Motability and the insurance company but yes for sure there will be some financials driving the agreement.
Again I can only say that the scheme has almost literally been a lifesaver for the under 25 year old I work with, and being close to getting a second car I am impressed with the range of vehicles available to him.
This is just a debate its not a personal argument
