@Phaedra, I hope everything gets sorted soon. I remember when my mum had gallbladder problems when I was quite young. She had it removed but was in absolute agony before surgery.
I also have some knowledge of infections right now (I’ve had the same infection since November last year, with a few short breaks after a run of antibiotics) it is always better, if possible, to clear the infection before opening up for any surgery as that pretty much guarantees spreading that infection around the local area. It’s probably a good idea to get lots of antibiotics in as soon as possible rather than risk spreading infections and having to deal with a post op sepsis.
