If you take the Qashqai/Australe, which both will acheive 50mpg @ £6.75 a gallon (£1,50 litre), you will cover 300 miles for £40.50 or about £35 at todays fuel costs.
The Ioniq 6 has a ball park range of 280 miles @ 50p kWh it’ll cost you £37, slightly more expensive than current fuel prices but, slightly lower than fuel high prices however, if you have to travel 7 miles each way, you have wasted 4kWh of battery and 30min or so of your time, especially if you have a petrol station nearby by or on your route (Petty I know, but it’s true).
The other thing to point out, is the monthly or yearly subscription you need for lower price charging, which for Tesla is £8.99 month or £90 a year.
I have always maintained, if you can’t charge from home the bulk of the time stick to petrol/hybrid.
