Price match is key, just as Rhodgie says. I worked in retail when I was a student and most days we would get someone coming in our electronics shop with a magazine advert asking us to match the price of a piece of kit, we had to phone the company in question to check they had stock and we’d almost always match the price.
if you see one of Big Dave’s deals but it’s too far, just ask a local dealer to match it, they’ll at least do you a deal and get as close to the price as possible.
