An update for anyone interested in fitting a Veigel electronic understeering push/pull brake/accelerator.

A mechanic from Veigel UK came and fitted a throttle control to my new motability lease (Audi Q4). The original fitter couldn’t make it work (they also set the steering wheel too low and generally was useless). The Veigel mechanic also positioned the steering wheel in a higher position and fitted the push/pull control in a better position for the user (me). There is now a rotary dial with 3 settings to reduce/throttle the power so when you apply the hand control there is a controlled response from the accelerator.

If you’re getting one of these devices fitted, I’d ensure that the dealer contacts Veigel UK. and requests that they fit their device to your vehicle. They know what they’re doing and really stepped up in helping fix their product. I’ve included a photo of my set up below for reference as I couldn’t find images of one fitted to a UK car.

First impressions are its easier on the hands (less force required to accelerate). The indicator switch is well positioned and once muscle memory sets in it’ll be automatic. Headlight button very useful. Only took 12 weeks to fit 😐
