Hi all, I’m interested in the XC40, but would want to add some extras (rear tinted windows and 360 camera). Do Volvo allow options to be added? If they do allow options to be added, is there any room for negotiation on options cost?
You can add any factory options that you like to any Motability car, but you have to pay for them in full (less any discount – see below) but be aware that if, for any reason, you have to hand the car back early, whilst you will get a pro-rata refund of the advance payment, you don’t get a penny back for any optional extras.
As for discounts on options, yes it’s perfectly possible but is at the discretion of the dealership. The last car that I added options to (a BMW) I got 15% discount off the options, so no harm in trying to negotiate.
