Sadly, Volvo petrol engines are way off the pace when it comes to fuel economy. I think those who get good mpg are in the minority. By contrast, our last car (BMW X1 2.0i 4WD) averaged 42.2 mpg over 26,000 miles.
The XC40 is also now a dated model with mediocre standard equipment, a poor infotainment system and small boot. There are far better cars available IMHO, even through Motability.
