I don’t know how thrashing the engine is going to re-generate the ppf? That’s how you do it with a Diesel not a petrol.
As a Tucson 1.6 manual owner I haven’t had the light come on in just under 30k miles.. It’s a great car.
You need to get to use lift off “engine breaking” with no fuel going through the engine it to “blow” the filter out. I select a lower gear going downhill and use engine breaking into roundabouts or motorway junctions.. Never had to do the 4th gear to 70 then lift off and repeat method that is normal when this happens.
I have adapted my driving style to meet the current demands of the latest cars.. I don’t want to but needs must.
