@kezo I did the same 217 mile round trip today that I did last Saturday. I was disappointed with last weeks ‘true’ mpg equivalent of 38.8 mpg but today was even worse – 34.5 mpg. I was driving a little bit faster than last week, but not tons more, mostly in the 70-80 mph range.

I think that’s shocking tbh. My previous ICE BMW would have done around 10 mpg better. It’s a good job that I don’t do journeys like that every week because, if I did, I think I’d be regretting getting a PHEV. I remain of the view that they are only worth choosing if a) you can charge at home and b) the vast majority of your driving will be within the EV range of the car. On longer journeys, where the EV range is depleted, the extra weight of the battery and the moderate petrol engine capacity makes the car very uneconomical.
