Does anyone else have an issue where the ohme epod keeps dropping to 3.8kw ? So frustrated by the ohme app too, cant link a car to it as the apps broken and octopus tracker not on the list of tariffs so cant really use any of the smart features
If its always dropped to 3.8kW, check the CT clamp hasn’t being fitted upside down.
Its not always, i plugged it in at 15.19 and it was on 34%, it was at 3.7kw for roughly 5 minutes and then went up to 7.2kw and the car stated it would be finished charging to 80% at 20.54, its now at 74% and running at 3.8kw and car saying it’ll finish at 23.58, based on that id say its running at 7kw for about two thirds of the charge but clearly keeps dropping to 3kw for long periods then going back up, how do i know if the clamps on wrong, is there an arrow ?
There is an arrow on it that should be pointing away from your meter. If you can’t see it, its easy to unclip the clamp to have a look. It could be the case of its doing its job and load balancing, depending what other appliances you have running at the same time or the installer simply forgot to max current/Amps to match your supply cut-out fuse. In most cases there’s a simple explanation. Put a pic up of the advanced setting page of the Ohme app.
I dont think its to do with other appliances drawing power because theres not any other high power items currently drawing power.
Also yesterday it was running at 7.2kw whilst the tumble dryer, washer, kettle, ninja and hottub were all running and pulling a total of 17kw so im sure its not that, ill check the arrow
