Morning @kezo Yes, I think that the combination of using cruise control and always using sat nav makes a difference to the on-the-move charging.
I do a 58 mile round trip around once a week. On the outward 29 mile journey (Auto mode) it tends to use EV mode for the first half of the journey and then the engine kicks in on the motorway (on and off) so when I get to my destination I can still have 20 odd miles EV range remaining, which I use up on the return run. The exception to this was a day when it was only 3 degrees outside, and having left home with a full charge I arrived at my destination with just 1 mile EV range left, so the usual 38 mile range had dropped to 27 miles – and I think the engine was on at times as well!
The reason that I always use Sat Nav is two fold. Firstly, for traffic jam avoidance and secondly on return journeys to ensure that I use up all of the EV range by the time I get home (checking remaining EV range versus miles to home). By using Sat Nav the car also does things like telling me to coast when approaching junctions or roundabouts etc so I strongly suspect that in Auto mode it also has some input into whether to use the battery or the engine on different roads.
As for OTR updates, yes I’ve had two in the time I’ve had the car. The first one was a bit wierd, as when it installed it turned on several of the functions on the panel where the climate controls etc are and I had to turn them off. The second one seemed to be mostly Terms & Conditions. Neither update has fixed the two issues that continue to bug me – the Bluelink app still persists in quoting range errors (mix of km and miles) and the Amazon Music is still extremely temperamental.
