    @kezo Interesting consumption figures which seem to match mine. In HEV mode when charging the battery at the same time as propelling the car, the consumption seems to plummet to about 20 mpg, but of course that then buys me some EV miles so in reality it’s more like 40 mpg (although it doesn’t always ‘buy’ me EV miles on a 1:1 basis). As we have both discovered, Auto mode delivers better mpg than HEV mode. At a steady 60-70 mph in the BMW I could easily get 50 mpg, so the Tucson is definitely thirstier but of course it’s heavier. Thankfully all the local mileage with a full charge in EV mode more than offsets this, but it goes to show that whether or not a PHEV is right for someone is entirely dependent on the type of journeys they do.

    Interesting thing in HEV mode the battery never charged any higher than 10-15%, like it does with you. I wonder in your case, whether having cruise control & satnav, its charging, enabling electric range at destination?
