    @des When you quote your mpg, are you going by what the computer in the car says? I’m sure that you know (but others might not) that with a PHEV the mpg quoted in the car is a nonsense and bears no resemblance to reality, as it takes no account of charging costs. You have to work out a cost per mile (based on petrol used plus all charging costs since the last refuel) and then divide that total pence per mile back into the price of a gallon of petrol to get a true mpg equivalent. As an example, the last time I filled up our PHEV the fuel computer said that mpg since the previous refuel was around 80mpg. In reality, when factoring in charging costs, that drops by 30mpg to 50mpg.
