I have to watch Grace on ITV 1 because Lady Tharg likes it. Quite good but very painful to watch lead copper driving around in his Alfa Giulia – and have to relive the worst car choice I ever made by not gettingĀ the Giulia when it was on Motability.
Catch bits of other dramas: Chelsea Detective and Whitstable Pearl and awaiting the new series of Majorca Files and Brokenwood Mysteries.
Only regular viewing is from TPTV: Out of Town is endlessly fascinating and the original Rupert Davies Maigret is unmissable. People tend to dismiss it as old, mid-century rubbish but, well, take a look and see what you think. It is all done on film not video, tightly directed and brilliantly acted. Stands the test of time and, for me, better than most of today’s babbling, politically correct cop tales which have more soap-story stuff about the coppers and nothing about hunting down baddies.
