These cars are just too damned clever by far 😂 I’ve never seen ‘Engine Fuel Mode’ but will now keep an eye out for it. The difference in Auto mode seems to be down to using cruise control or not. No idea why. I also think Auto mode seems to work in tandem with the Sat Nav in some way, in that it seems to hold a decent amount of charge on the outward journey but seems to know that I want to use it all up on the return journey. Stuff of the devil if you ask me! Either way, I think we’ve both come to the same conclusion that EV mode (for shorter journeys) and Auto mode (for longer ones) are best and manually switching the car into HEV mode is best avoided.
