I’ve had a write off and a recent repair requiring a loan car. Motability provides a loan car (through a 3rd party). I can assure you it’s unlikely it’ll be electric. Last month my loan car, with hand controls (push pull accelerator & steering ball) was an ageing diesel mondeo (luckily not old enough to fall foul of ULEZ).
It’s the adaptations required that seem to reduce your options. Also make sure they don’t try to fob you off with one of those bolt on push/pull kits, they’re not safe. Going from a plug-in-hybrid to a diesel was painful, but at least the fuel consumption should be ok.
