@kezo and yet driving on the motorway in HEV mode yesterday very much seemed to be a ‘charge’ mode, as it was constantly charging the battery. As I say, HEV mode seems to behave differently depending on whether you activate it intentionally (as I did yesterday), as opposed to when it kicks in during Auto mode when the battery depletes (as previously).
Presumably your long term 50mpg is calculated using the pence per mile method including charge costs? If so, that’s encouraging.
I’m tempted at some stage when the EV miles have depleted to fill up with petrol and run the whole tank in HEV mode with no charges whatsoever to see what the mpg is. That would be the only scenario when the mpg as shown in the car would be correct!
