I don’t know what to suggest the RAV4/Across system is different to the Tuscon, we are seeing over 35mpg towing using the ICE in hybrid mode, we are holiday at the moment so cannot plug in and seeing north of 55mpg, something is wrong with you car
Thanks. I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve next filled up with petrol and done a proper calculation of overall running costs. I’ve already established 100% that shorter journeys where I can run in 100% EV mode are less than half the cost of our previous ICE car, so that’s a positive. However, when the petrol engine kicks in it seems to be worse than our ICE car. No great surprise I guess given the extra (dead) weight of the battery in those situations and the cars insistence on using petrol to charge the battery at the same time, but I’ll only get a true picture when I next fill up with petrol and do the maths. It may not be as bad as I think. I’m just curious to know if the car can be configured not to recharge the battery using petrol beyond the 15-20% minimum reserve.
