Amazingly (for me) I did understand all of that 😂 However, as I will almost always start a journey with a full battery, and I don’t find the engine to be at all obtrusive, I’m not terribly concerned about what the car does, as long as I’ve got it in the right mode to start with.
In round trips of under 40 miles I will drive in EV mode and with longer trips I will drive in Auto mode, with the car doing its own thing once the battery depletes (which, as you say, will be a combination of HEV and regenerated EV and EV from the minimum power always retained in the battery).
Interesting though all of this is, I’m really just time filling before my first fill up 😂 It’s just as well that I want to top up in a weeks time prior to our holiday, as the petrol usage is so little I would be waiting a long time otherwise 😂
