des, thanks for the more encouraging post. I’ve just got back from my dealership and have had a long and reassuring conversation with the Motability specialist. I told him the specific problems that you guys have experienced since delivery and he was surprised to hear of your misfortunes. I asked him how many E 3008 handovers he had personally done and he told me the figure was at least 20 and probably closer to thirty. He said that he had absolutely no complaints about faults and also said that he suspected that your problems arose from your car not being “PDI’d” in a really thorough manner. He explained that their “PDI procedure” was meticulous and all software faults and glitches were corrected before the car was released to the customer. If your PDI was rushed it could explain your current problems. My car is currently at ‘stage ten’ which is ‘in build’ evidently. I’m told it should be available by the end of September. I wish you luck with getting your car sorted so that you can get down to the business of enjoyable trouble free motoring again.
I hope all the issues get sorted but please do not yake a salesman’s word as fact, in reality hes probably only handed over a few and doesn’t have a clue about any of it because not many sold yet and these issues feed back through service not sales.
Also a PDI isn’t going to pick up glitches unless they spend some time driving it around.
