My son is 15 well 16 today but that’s by the by.
My boy has had ASD symptoms since he was a baby. He used to keep it all in at school from 5 years and then get off the school bus and lash out at mum physically.
Anyway poor lad has lots going on. He’s overweight now not huge but clearly overweight. He’s been so ill recently and ended up being rushed into hospital turns out he’s type 2 diabetic now he’s on metformin and 24 units of time release insulin daily.
Got to say the paediatric team have been brilliant. He regularly sees dietician, diabetic nurse, consultant, mental health all during the one visit. They genuinely want to help and looks like the diabetic team have also unearthed that he’s Coeliac too. His test results was like 400 times higher than normal so now waiting for the test that takes a month.
Dunno if it’s as paediatrics but they’ve been brilliant and supportive.
If you’re not getting the support I’d suggest trying moving to the next nearest hospital or department
