Apart from the snob value of having the latest reg plate why wait? It won’t make any difference to the residual value of the vehicle at the end of the lease 🤷♂️
A car will ALWAYS be worth more at resale if it was registered in the first month of a plate change rather than the last month of the preceding reg number.
Not to a dealer at the end of its lease, maybe cost a punter more who thinks he’s getting a younger car but Motability aren’t getting an extra £1k for it
I’m sorry but you are wrong. A car with a newer plate IS deemed a younger car and is worth more in the trade as a result. I gave the £1k difference purely as an example. The difference with many cars can be more than that. Might be worth you checking out some car price guides as you will be surprised.
If you want to go looking for examples be my guest but seeing as how there isn’t a £1k difference in retail value over a car being 2 days younger I doubt you’ll get much luck.
Besides it’s all a bit of a moot point as the retail value is of no concerns to us or Motability, so to go back to my original point… apart from the snob value why wait?
