Congrats Frank on finally collecting your XC40. Many happy motoring miles. You, or was it anarchy, who mentioned that cars ordered in March are coming through a bit quicker. I ordered mine in March and there is no sign of it. Mind you, I eventually found out that my dealer’s build slot wasn’t until June! I suppose I will get a delivery date of 39th August.
It was me that mentioned it. It’s not all orders from march/April I may note. There is an influx of newer orders coming in quicker than older ones. A lot from April onwards have been delivered. I’ve a feeling newer orders coming straight from factory to dealer to minimise clogging of the car parks full of Volvo’s. Older orders seem to be getting put in wherever there’s a slot to be made/shipped. I may be wrong but seeing how things are and have been for the past year it seems that’s what’s happening. Stepdad works on the roro and Volvos coming in daily. Most go straight out within 24hrs whilst older stock is stuck with no extra transport to clear them from the port.
