I thought I felt my ears burning lol.
Test drove the Tiguan prior to it joining the scheme and wasn’t overly impressed with the ride. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t dire but, wasn’t the best ever especially over our less than perfect roads. Even so, I just couldn’t live with the swathes of gloss black across the whole dashboard, a dust and fingerprint for sure and the fit and finish wasn’t up to VW standard. Then theres that huge pointless portable TV VW forgot to add any buttons for. To me this looked out of place and there’s the point VW aren’t renown for their software anymore.
Skoda are producing better cars than VW these days, the interior of the Kodiaq looks more upmarket however, you still get that oversized portable TV but, more in the way of real buttons for the important things, which I see as a positive. The load area is of course massive. I still prefer the outgoing Kodiaq and Tiguan though!
In the end I went with the 2024 Tuscon/Tucson, as after having a 2022 model (early termination) you can see where Hyundai makes improvements. Every refresh looks/feels like facelift each time getting better and better across all area’s. You won’t be wanting any options like with other european models, even acoustic glass is included and I love the @r$e coolers. Hyundai IMO are of VW these days and their EV’s light years ahead and the same can be said for Kia.
