My son had a similar issue. The police surrounded the car he said there were 9 of them. He had changed his number plate to a private one and told the insurance company who did not do their administration changes. It came up uninsured. He showed the police the email he sent to them . He explained the circumstances they let him go. In case they stop you just show them what you have done. You won’t be penalised for an admin error
