Just spoke to a friend whose relative is a motability specialist. They sometimes get the list before the start of the quarter, not always.
For my first motability car I went to a dealer that covered two makes. I wanted a model A but he told me that due to model B being facelifted soon the AP has dropped a lot. I went for the model B. When the facelift version came out the AP for the similar trim went up by £2k. That was back in 2007. When my lease was up I was interested in model C from the same dealership, it met my needs but had a high AP. I went back to the dealership on the last day of the quarter as recommended by the motability specialist. I asked him if the AP price was going up tomorrow when the new quarter starts. He told me he can’t say. Asked if I liked coffee, I said yes. Before he left he placed a paper on his desk and turned it so I can read it. It was the AP for the new quarter and the AP has gone up by a large amount. I ordered my car there and then lol. He has always been supportive but told me he has to be careful otherwise he might lose his position.
If we are lucky we might see new AP prices on manufacturer website tonight but by then it’s too late to order if AP has gone up.
