i am seriously considering leaving mota at the end of this lease i am 65 this year and i only do 7k a year which will only go down if i give up my part time work. an ev will be a faff as i cant charge at home even though i would only need to charge once a week or fortnight if it has a decent range 250+.
I don’t blame you mitch, especially considering it costing just short of £12k + AP based on this years rates and I don’t think overall WPMS payments differ much to PIP. I was all for leaving this time round but, seeing the new Hyundai Tucson was on the scheme I chose to stay this time round. In 3yrs time I’ll leave because of Motability’s fast pace to EV’s.
An EV has the same if not more tech than an ICE/Hybrid, so you won’t escape all the safety feature bongs. Also if you can’t charge at home, its as expensive if not more than your current car to run. The other thing, if you charge at supermarkets/carparks local, they are slow to charge and nly have a hour or two parking time.
This July see Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA) to be on by default, which flashes and/or bongs if you go over the speed limit, requiring the owner to dig in the menu to turn it off.
