Very interesting and sensible words of caution from several of you who already have EVs. When some of us say these things we are shot down in flames or accused of being ‘anti-EV’ ?. I have a BMW 20e M-Sport for the day on Friday. I shall be very interested to see what happens to the range. I had a 30e for a day last year. I drove 50 miles and the remaining range dropped by 100 miles. For over 90% of our journeys an EV would be fine, even allowing for the grossly overstated ranges. My worry is that we do longer journeys every couple of months when recharging stops would be necessary. Our current petrol car can manage up to 600 miles between refuelling, so that will require a leap of faith.
