I’m just getting this issue now. It’s been confirmed today that the whole console needs replacing. I lost maps completely, it keeps warning that there’s overtaking traffic when no one’s there or worse not warning when there is ( not a problem if you don’t have traffic warning alerts but when you’re 3 years into a lease you’re kind of used to it and rely on it). The part has been ordered but may take 4 months. It’s due for changeover 11th May ( my new car is sat in VW waiting I can’t change early). So I’m not sure where they’ll send the part as I won’t have the car any longer.
Anyway, the upshot is this is a sad end to what has been a superb car. I’m assured it’s not dangerous nor is it going to start shutting the engine down or anything but losing maps in the middle of London wasn’t fun.
