I typically use a lug to connect the earth cable to the clamp but, appreciate you won’t have crimping gear, so you can do it the other way shown in the video which may sparks still do. The video also shows you how to connect the earth strap. Make sure everthing is tight at both ends and if you have somme wire wool, emery cloth or sandpaper give the water pipe a quick clean where the clamp will be fitted.
