Tesla’s like all cars, are a subjective taste, and I wouldn’t choose to get one or not based on a minority shareholder! Musk owns under 15% of the company.
The advantages of Teslas far out way such concerns anyway.
Costs aside – which are coming down – The availability and ease of public charging, and constant improvements to driver assistance & range etc means this car would arguably be better in three years than it is now.
I’m not saying they’re a perfect choice, all cars have compromises, removal of indicator stork for example.
If I do ever get one – hopefully they can still add a toggle switch the my hand controls.
