Cable security is a major concern for us. We live on a main road and have lots of low loader type vans drive past slowly. I’d certainly be interested in a way of securing the cable. We are even thinking of asking for a different charger as I’ve read the Ohme can’t secure the cable.
didn’t they fix this, by using slide lock button in the app.
The problem with Ohme E-Pod is when you plug the cable in, it points out at 90deg rather than at an angle. The Ohme Pro the charg cable is already attatched at the factory, unlike other tethered chargers where its connect on site. Although the installer will swop it on site if you request 8m in some cases.
However the locking pins, that lock the able plugs in place on both the charger and car are plastic, so if a good hard yank will most likely snap the pins.
There are plenty of charger security boxes of various forms available by doing a quick search.
Although not made of metal an electric meter box is a good deterant, as passers by will think its just that. A hole would need to be drilled at the bottom to allow the charger plug out, but a plate could them be fixed to cover part the hole to orevent the plug falling out. As an idea…
