As long as you’ve paid for it as an extra and it’s not part of the fabric of the car ie. Sunroof or upgraded seats etc. then you can remove it. If you pay for a spare then you don’t get gunk or pump.
From a safety point of view all the cars will go to a central point to be checked over and things like hoists removed and binned (son used to do this job) missing items will either be replaced or sold without as these 9/10 are going to auction and dealers.
