My preference has always been to go with ‘in stock’ vehicles instead of a new build. By going with ‘in stock’ i get the convenience of knowing the exact handover date and i don’t have to worry about push back from the factory or delays on the slow boat from China. Also, because i don’t do ‘packs’ in stock or new build cars are gonna be identical, with the possible exception of having an early number plate instead of a late number plate. Packs aside are there any other benefits i’m missing by always choosing to go with in stock over new build?
Possibly no or restricted choice of available colours or seat trim colour etc on stock models.
Dealership holding stock may not be your ‘local’ dealership so possibility you have to travel to a distant dealership to order/collect.
Benefits: If the dealership has a lot of stock they are wanting to shift – the possibility of negotiating a deal on the AP.
You get the vehicle quicker.
