Hi all Given PIP is due to go up again by 6.7% do we think there’ll ever be any small EVs that cost less than full weekly amount and stay at the current rate given it jumped up eventually in 2023 too? Or am I wishful thinking and that’s years off yet? ?
It is anybody’s guess, however I doubt it unless the cost/AP of the vehicles drop.
The reason I say that is because with the 6.7% increase in April 2024, PIP/DLA/ADP/CDP/AFIP will all rise to £75.75 per week.
However, as a comparitor, looking at the current Advance Payments of ‘fixed weekly cost’ EV’s using WPMS, the cheapest fixed weekly cost EV is £77.12 per week.
Therefore the 6.7% rise doesn’t even reach this amount. Hence, in reality, only if the vehicle price/AP is reduced will fixed weekly cost for other allowances appear.
