Motability will refund if the price comes down, this happened on our current lease. We wrote to them and they refunded the difference.
That is great to hear, so maybe we are debating a scenario that Motability will resolve by default, and pass on the discount! ??
They absolutely won’t resolve by default. To be 100% clear, the AP at the point you order is the AP you pay (“We freeze the price at the time you apply. This means it’s locked, even if it changes before you get your vehicle.”) That is the Motability rule. Some dealers may choose to cancel and reorder the car through the Motability system, however this is against Motability rules. Some dealers are very strict with this rule – if they are found to be doing this they could be struck off the scheme. Motability currently have no way of stopping this however as it would essentially mean dealers wouldn’t be able to cancel any orders. I’d suggest that Jojoe got very lucky in their approach.
