    I Agree, the housing situation is your biggest barrier.  I’m sure if you’ve a move planned then Motability would wait but I doubt they’d hold the install for ever.   So, do you have plans to move house in the very near future?

     

    The available savings come mainly from the ability to charge either at home or at a workplace on a discounted tariff.  Unfortunately pretty much all the free charging opportunities have gone as the cost of electricity sky rocketed.  There may be some in car parks if you’re lucky but how often would you go there before you count that as part of your charging routine.

     

    Some manufacturers will have their own discounted schemes which may open up your opportunities but the general rule is that rapid charging (50kWh +) will make EV ownership as expensive per mile or, potentially more expensive, than a decently economical petrol car.
