Initially I was quite skeptical on the digital mirror especially at that price, however the more I researched, safety wise it offered more than the conventional mirror, which got me to summon up the courage to go for a stock car with one.
My skepticism was purely based on the media’s negative review of an Audi’s digital mirror, but having one has completely changed my view – granted it takes getting used, but it becomes second nature after a few days.
Also contrary to some views on the smart park feature, mine does more than just “forward and back” it does park itself whilst in or out of the vehicle. That being said, I see it more as a novelty feature which I would probably never try to use again.
The bings and bongs are definitely not as intrusive as has been suggested, my ears are very sensitive to bongs however, I can live with the i6 alerts. Apparently, these safety alerts are the new norm in regard to ncap rating so expect new cars to have these.
I would suggest a test drive to avoid any misconceptions against such a capable car.
