Hi everyone, I ordered the I4 on the 17th of August, they’ve still not found a build slot for me but stated at the time I’d be in January time. Any ideas of why it’s not been allocated a build slot? I’m a little anxious that’d would get cancelled. There is no other vehicle on the scheme that is worth its weight in value IMO so would like some clarification.
Dealers get allocated build slots periodically and clearly when you ordered your car they didn’t have any available slots for the i4. Furthermore, they obviously had a wait list for build slots and those that they’ve been allocated since have been given to other customers. This is why it is absolutely imperative to ask a dealer before placing an order what their position is with build allocation slots. By shopping around you might have found another BMW dealer who could have placed your order with the manufacturer within days of you ordering. The good news, however, is that as long as the dealer inputted your order on the Motability system you will get your car – eventually.
