Untill there are at least equal BEV’s and ICE on our roads, I don’t think we will see the full picture of whether one is better than the other. However, a greater number of manufacturers are turning to LFP batteries which are known to be less of a risk.
As of 2019, there were 35 million licensed vehicles on our roads, of those 166,000 were electric vehicles. In the same year Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, said some 1898 fires in 2019 were from petrol and diesel vehicles, 54 from EVs!
