Thank you all so much, because of you I felt braver in questioning things.
I really was not trying to get out of anything if we owed it, I just felt very embarrassed by the whole situation.
So I contacted notability who said as it was an optional extra they could not get involved but did agree that it was not right and listed it on my account and advised me to contact the manager at the dealership with there backing.
So I did, luckily the issue had been highlighted to him and the discovered where the fault was yes we had been informed correctly but the dealer has 2 systems, 1 main which updated correctly hence why we were able to pay and leave and the second which is the main order sheet and finance which had not been linked correctly and still showed a balance owing.
So hooray we were correct and we do not have to pay and never had to in the first place!
